The doctor's exam was great and the staff seemed cordial. The problem came a few days later.
The implication; it was my fault that I was given a large splint instead of a small or medium one. I would have received the correct size if someone has actually measured my wrist before sending me home with one that was causing more pain.
Burned my left foot and went to Med Express at Southridge. Was treated by Dr. John Cook. I found Dr. Cook quite competent and genuinely concerned about my injury. He treated me and said I need to be seen again in two days. However, the ME office at Southridge was closing and I was informed that I could go to the Patrick Street or Cross Lanes location for the followup visit. He indicated he would be in Cross Lanes. Even though it is a longer drive from my home I chose the Cross Lanes location and saw Dr. Cook again. I also saw him five days later for another follow up visit. I now have another follow up visit tomorrow and I wanted to see Dr. Cook since he is familiar with my case, but when I called the office, I was told that they were not allowed to tell me if Dr. Cook is going to be in tomorrow. Really!
I received a message from them asking if I was doing ok. I called them back to report that the wrist splint they gave me was way to big and was actually making my wrist hurt worse. I asked if I could get one that was the correct size. I was told that I could go purchase one myself.
Dr. Jennifer Scott was very rude. I did not like her or the way she treated me. Dr. Swain was wonderful and I would definitely see him again but if Dr. Scott was seeing patients I would drive pass and go to Urgent Care near Wendys. Dr. Scott needs to have her attitude worked on. Patients are people who have feelings especially when he are hurt.
We have been to this Med express twice. Both times we were seen quickly and professionally. Would definitely go back again if needed. Thanks for being kind and getting us out in a timely manner.
